Talking about Labcare is telling my life. Projects, changes, new beginnings, but also memories, like the first laboratory, in Genoa, where I prepared the creams and shampoos that the next morning I sold in my little shop in the historic center.
I started there, from the Tree of Life: the first natural cosmetics store in Liguria. It was very well-kept, very fragrant, exciting: because it was true, authentic, in the sense that it was the perfect representation of my way of thinking, working, being. It was the end of the 70s, I was just over 20 years old.
I began very early to follow and practice consistently a green philosophy to which I have always been faithful: today, as then, I aim to grow harmoniously, imitating and following nature. Which does not make leaps and teaches never to force times and situations.
The next step was to integrate the cosmetic products with the Herbalism part. If I close my eyes, even today I can smell the scents that emanated from the bags with their medicinal herbs and the incredible energy that could be felt in those shops that, one after the other, I was opening in the city. An exciting period!
Then, another important turning point, which occurred with the sale of the herbalist shops, which gave birth to a new adventure as a full-service consultant and producer. I was responsible for creating and implementing ideas and projects for companies that wanted to enter the cosmetics sector: I contributed to their growth and worked for important Italian and international brands. A satisfaction.
Even in that role, things went well, but at a certain point, I realized that I was missing something: something of my own, that would summarize the work of a lifetime. That's how Labcare Cosmetics was born, the brand of Lab&Co, where "Co." represents my sons, Gianmaria and Nicolò (who I deliberately list in alphabetical order).
The first deals with communication and marketing. The second follows the commercial part, but the roles are never so defined. My experience, the sense of innovation and their enthusiasm: the winning formula to reach ambitious, but realistic goals. Establish ourselves in Italy and expand in Europe in the next 5 years.
We are an Italian cosmetics company with a strong natural focus, with 6 employees and 2,500 pharmacies served throughout the country, through the valuable work of 40 agents who share our philosophy.
The numbers, however, make the speech dry, arid, soulless. The exact opposite of what Lab&Co is and of the products branded Labcare Cosmetics, exclusive for research and formulation. A start up with over 40 years of experience. Or rather: of stories.
